Sharpes Books

A Bloody Good Read

Bernard Cornwell Books

Here is a list all Bernard Cornwell's Novels except the Sharpe Books. For his sharpe books in full chronological order go to the Sharpe books page.

Full reviews for many of the books will follow in time.

The Saxon Chronicles

From reading many comments and forums I well loved and read series, which frankly has left me a little cold. I think I found it a poor second the the Arthur Series, and have never been able to enjoy it fully since. However I do appear to be in the minority opinion and many people say this adventure in Alfred's England is there favorite Cornwell series

Bernard Cornwell Series

The Warlord Chronicles

These three Arthur Books are probably my favorite three fiction books, and without doubt both Bernard Cornwell's best work, and to my mind the best Arthur books ever written. If you are only going to read 3 more fiction books before you die make sure its these three.

The Starbuck Chronicles

The Nathaniel Starbuck series set in the American Civil War, provides a thoroughly enjoyable romp in the same ilk of the Sharpe Novels, but with there own distinct flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed them and at the same time cured my ignorance of the American Civil War. The series does not feel finished yet and I hope Bernard returns to it at some point soon.

The Grail Quest Novels

A series of books set within the hundred years war, chronicling the life of Thomas of Hookton and a quest for the Holy Grail. Action takes place throughout England, Scotland and France. Again a thoroughly enjoyable series of books.
